YOUR FIRST DAY WITH CREW TALLY

How do I get started?

Start with one person and one workday. You can add the rest of your crew afterwards.

I want to keep crew records

We’ll guide you through a job, a worker, the work and a final review.

I just need a quick answer

Calculate hours or day-rate earnings without saving names or records.

Use a free calculator
  1. Name your job

Use a name like “Garden renovation.” Each work entry and payment belongs to a job, so you can keep projects separate.

  2. Add your first worker

Use a name or nickname and choose an hourly or daily rate. A daily rate follows the day portion you agreed; Crew Tally never assumes it means eight hours.

  3. Enter the work

Choose the work date. For hourly work, enter paid hours and extra minutes after unpaid breaks. For day-rate work, choose a quarter, half, three-quarter or full day.

  4. Check, then save

Review the name, date, rate and earning. For example, half a day at $250 earns $125. If you are replacing the sample workspace, save a backup first and confirm the replacement.

  5. Record payments when they happen

Open Pay and record the amount you actually paid, its date and method. Crew Tally records a payment; it does not send money. Partial payments reduce only that worker’s balance.

  6. Keep a backup

Use Backups & recovery to download a file. Keep it in a secure place you can access from another device. Check a backup before restoring it; restoration replaces this browser’s records.

Made a mistake? Open the worker’s history and choose Correct. Review the new earning before saving. The original entry remains visible, marked corrected. To undo an incorrect payment record, use Reverse and enter the reason.

No account is needed for local records. Records stay in this browser. Cloud sync, tax calculations and automatic payroll are not included.
