Clock-out time calculator

Clocked in and want to know when you leave? Enter your start, your shift length and any unpaid break.

To find your clock-out time, add the hours you work and any unpaid break to your clock-in time. If you clock in at 8:00 AM and work an 8-hour shift with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, you clock out at 4:30 PM.

Example 8:00 AM + 8h shift + 30-min lunch = 4:30 PM 8 hours of work plus a 30-minute unpaid break is 8 hours 30 minutes after 8:00 AM, which is 4:30 PM.

Your shift

Use your own figures, or load an example to see how it works.

Enter the paid shift length. You can use decimal hours (7.5) in the hours field, or split it across hours and minutes.

Add any unpaid lunch or break; it pushes your clock-out time later.

THE MATH, MADE SIMPLE

Clock-out time is clock-in plus shift plus break

Start from the time you clocked in, add the hours and minutes you are scheduled to work, then add any unpaid break. An unpaid break does not count as paid time, but you are still on site for it, so it moves your clock-out time later in the day.

EXAMPLEClock in 8:00 AM, work 8h, 30-min lunch → 4:30 PM

8:00 AM plus 8 hours is 4:00 PM. Adding the 30-minute unpaid lunch gives a clock-out time of 4:30 PM. Total paid time is 8 hours.

Shifts that cross midnight

If the clock-out time lands after midnight, the result shows “+1 day.” For example, clocking in at 10:00 PM for an 8-hour shift with no break clocks you out at 6:00 AM the next day.

Paid time and clock-out time are different

Paid time is just the hours you work. Clock-out time also includes any unpaid break. A 30-minute unpaid lunch adds nothing to paid hours but makes you clock out 30 minutes later.

This is a schedule estimate. It does not transfer money, calculate taxes, or certify pay-rule compliance.
